Calling out all arts and culture enthusiasts! Join us on a museum tour in Makati City, the country’s central business and financial district.
Begin the day at the Makati Museum which houses the collection of photographs, dioramas, artifacts, murals and other relics showcasing the historical and cultural heritage of the city. Then make a stop at the famous Nielsen Tower, the country’s first airport built in 1937, currently converted into an upscale restaurant.
Next, explore the impressive Ayala Museum, located at the heart of the Makati Central Business District. The museum features 60 handcrafted dioramas depicting milestones in Philippine history. Highlights include: Gold of Ancestors: Pre-Colonial Treasures in the Philippines, featuring archeological artifacts; A Millennium of Contract, featuring an impressive collection of trade ceramics from neighboring countries and China; and Art and the Order of Nature in Indigenous Philippine Textiles.
This tour also includes a drive-by of the Saints Peter and Paul Parish, the first and oldest church in Makati, as well as the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe, built by the Augustinian friars in 1629. At the end of the day you can choose to return to your hotel or spend the rest of the day exploring the Ayala Center.
