Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival to Tbilisi
Arrive in Tblisi. Transfer and check-in at the hotel.
Overnight in Tbilisi
Day 2: Half Day Tbilisi City Tour
(Touring distance = +/- 50 km)
Today, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Tbilisi. Visit: Old City, Metekhi Church, Narikala Fortress, Abanotubani, Sulphur bath district, Sioni Cathedral, Anchiskhati Basilica, Rustaveli Avenue.
Free time for lunch.
Afternoon, join an optional tour of the National Museum of Georgia. (Note: This is an optional tour – not included in the package price!)
Overnight in Tbilisi
Day 3: Round trip to Wine Region – Kakheti
(Touring distance = +/- 270 km)
This morning, drive to Kakheti region. Visit: Bodbe Nunnery and Sighnaghi - City of Love.
Free time for lunch, followed by wine tasting at local winery before driving back to Tbilisi.
Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 4: Tbilisi to Khevi Province
(Touring distance = +/- 205 km)
This morning, drive to the former capital of Mtskheta. Visit: Jvari Monastery (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (another UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Free time for lunch before continuing with your tour with photo stops along Georgian Military Highway. Then hike up the Gergeti Trinity Church - approximately 3-hour hike (or get on a 4WD vehicle on supplement basis - $ 25.00/person, minimum 2 pax!).
Overnight in Gudauri.
Day 5: Trip to the oldest urban settlement in Georgia
(Touring distance = +/- 315 km)
Today drive to Uplistsikhe cave town via Ananuri architectural complex. Explore Uplistsikhe rock-hewn town.
Free time for lunch, followed by visit Stalin’s Museum and the house where Stalin, the leader of Soviet Union, was born.
Overnight in Tbilisi
Day 6: Tbilisi – Sadakhlo – Sevan - Yerevan
(Driving distance = +/- 320 km)
Transfer to Sadakhlo border with guide assistance. After border formalities, meet with Armenian guide and driver. Then proceed to visit Haghpat Monastery (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Lake Sevan - one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world; and Sevan Monastery.
Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 7: Yerevan -Echmiadzin – Yerevan
(Touring distance = +/- 50 km)
This morning, drive to Echmiadzin to visit Echmiadzin Cathedral (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Then visit the Ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral.
Free time for lunch, followed by a city tour of Yerevan. Visit of Matenadaran Museum and Tsitsernakaberd – the memorial complex dedicated to the victims of the Great Armenian Genocide.
Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 8: Yerevan – Garni – Geghard – Khor Virap - Yerevan
(Touring distance = +/- 150 km)
Today, you will visit Garni Hellenistic temple and Geghard Monastery – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Free time for lunch, before continuing to visit Khor-Virap – “Deep Dungeon”, one of the holiest sites in Armenia.
Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 9: Departure from Yerevan.
Whole day is free until time to transfer to the airport for departure.
N.B. this tour requires minimum 2 pax and maximum of 20 pax to operate!
